Rain Cats and Dogs字面上的意思是「下貓狗雨」，其實是指「下傾盆大雨」。日常口語也常用「It』s pouring with rain.」及「It』s coming down in buckets.」來表達同樣的意思。

例：It』s raining cats and dogs outside, and that』s why I look like a drowned rat.（現在外頭雨下超大的，那正是我看起來像隻落湯雞的原因。）
